A few days ago, I was invited by Giannis Reklos (the owner of the hotel that I host my annual winter Pelican Workshop) to talk to a TV morning show about Photographer’s life in Kerkini and the Pelicans.
Of course, I accepted because talking about photography and wildlife, and the importance of being close to nature and protect it, is something that I am very passionate.
Vasilis Anastasiadis and Antonis, journalist and cameraman from Greek National Channel, ERT, met us at Kerkini’s small harbour early in the morning. Both of them experienced a magnificent sunrise and capture Pelicans and even Flamingos.
The link was live and quickly we were on air in the morning show Sindesis, with Journalists Kostas Papachlimintzos and Christina Vidou, in Athens. Vasilis asked me to speak for Kerkini lake and the Pelicans from a Professional Wildlife, Nature and Landscape Photographer’s point of view! Although we had only a few minutes to talk about a subject I could speak for hours, I think I did very well, considering that for the previous three days I was shooting a private Workshop in Kerkini, with a great group of people from Switcherland (more on that in a future blog post). My years hosting live podcasts and YouTube/Facebook shows for pttlgr helped me cope with the usual anxiety a normal person has in front of the camera.
You can watch the part in the link of the Show (it starts at 1:10:20 here).
I have also kept the piece that I speak about a Professional Wildlife, Nature and Landscape Photographer’s life in Kerkini and the Pelicans, with English subtitles for my English-speaking friends.
