As Wildlife Photographers, it’s essential for us to advocate for the preservation of our planet and its diverse species.
In recent weeks, I’ve initiated a partnership with a non-governmental organization in Northern Greece, Action for Wildlife. My role involves utilizing my skills in video production and content creation to support their mission.
Action for Wildlife is a dedicated team focused on the welfare and rehabilitation of wild animals. They provide care to sick, tired, or injured wild animals encountered by locals in Northern Greece. These animals are given immediate medical attention and specialized treatment. Upon recovery and once deemed suitable, these animals are released back into their natural habitat.
Our inaugural project is a promotional video for the upcoming Open Day event, which is scheduled for this coming Saturday, December 23.
The care center will be open for tours! We’ll have the opportunity to meet up close, learn important information about the animals we care for, and of course, you’ll be able to see the animals in the outdoor cages. Simultaneously, the 2024 calendar will be presented, where anyone wishing to support our work will have the opportunity!
REINTRODUCTION OF A FALCON
Subsequently, we will head to the Corfu Park at the beginning of the red road in Kalochori (https://maps.app.goo.gl/khLdDGBK8ajziGSW6?g_st=ic). There, the reintroduction of a Peregrine Falcon that we have been caring for will take place.
TREE PLANTING
In collaboration with the Echedoros Nature organization, both adults and children will have the chance to leave their mark by planting some trees/shrubs near the reintroduction site. Attention!! If you have binoculars, don’t forget to bring them along! There are many species you can see on your walk, some of which include flamingos, pelicans, seagulls, and others.
I warmly welcome you to join us in Kalochori to explore the centre, from 12:00 pm to 13:30 pm, observe the animals, and gain insights into their care and treatment.
