The Untamed Beauty of Madzharovo: A Hide Photography Experience
Discover the wild and untamed beauty of Madzharovo, Bulgaria, through a hide photography workshop designed to captivate and inspire both seasoned photographers and passionate amateurs. Nestled in the scenic region of Madzharovo, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to capture the stunning landscapes and rich biodiversity that this hidden gem is known for.
Each day will begin around 5 o’clock as we set off in our 4×4 vehicle to the photography hide in the mountains. We will remain there until the last light, sitting in silence and waiting for the region’s significant birds to appear before our lenses. After the sun sets, we will return to our guest house for dinner. There, we will discuss our experiences and rest for the night.
Capturing the Wildlife
The hide is strategically placed in the mountains, offering unparalleled views of vultures (griffons, cinereous, Egyptian) and other birds of prey, like golden eagles, white-tailed eagles and black kites. Additionally, some mammals, including foxes and golden jackals, also visit the hide, offering even more exciting photography opportunities.
Throughout the workshop, you will receive personalized instruction and tips on wildlife photography techniques. Whether you’re looking to improve your skills or simply enjoy the experience, our expert guidance will help you make the most of your time in Madzharovo.

Dates and Price
The Workshop will take place at Madzharovo at March/April 2025 (exact dates will be announced in March)
- Duration: 4 days, 3 nights
- Location: Madzharovo
- Price: Early Bird 750 euros for a double room (with a photographer of the same sex). Prices include tax. Regular price is 850 euros. For two or more photographers, please send me an email.
- Deposit: 300 euros
A non-refundable deposit is required to book your place, or you may pay in full at the time of booking. The remaining balance is due 14 days prior to the start of the workshop. If the remaining balance is not paid in full, your place will be forfeited. I reserve the right to cancel the trip due to unforeseen circumstances. If the trip is cancelled, I will arrange an alternative date or a full refund if you can not make the alternative date. In general, the workshop will not be cancelled due to the weather forecast.

Recommended Clothing
Since we will be starting early in the morning, please bring moderately warm clothes, as usually the weather is not so cold. Additionally, make sure to bring hiking shoes. Spring in Bulgaria is usually ok.
I suggest you will be dressed in layers, that is to wear several pieces of clothing on top of one another, so that as the day gets warmer you will be able to adjust your clothes and temperature.
