This past Saturday, March 8th, I had the incredible opportunity to speak at the Capture Convention 2025, the largest photography and videography convention in Greece. It was an honour to present my work on conservation image creation, with a special focus on my collaboration with Action for Wildlife.
During my talk, I shared my experiences documenting wildlife rescue efforts and highlighted the vital role that organizations like Action for Wildlife play in rehabilitating injured and sick animals across Central and Northern Greece. The presentation was an emotional one, as it shed light on the dedication of the people working tirelessly to protect and care for wildlife, often compensating for the absence of state support in this critical area.
The response from the audience—comprised of fellow photographers, videographers, and members of the public—was truly moving. It was heartening to see so many people recognize the importance of wildlife conservation and the need to support these efforts. I want to extend my deepest gratitude to the team at Action for Wildlife for their unwavering commitment, and to all those who attended and engaged in meaningful discussions about conservation.

A heartfelt thank you to the Photographers and Videographers Unions of Central and Center-West Macedonia, with special appreciation to Iraklis Soliopoulos (President of the Society of Professional Photographers and Videographers of Central Mavedona) and Dimitris Kontsidis (Vice President of the Center West Photographers Union and President of the Union of Photographers in Greece), for the invitation to speak.
Their dedication, along with that of their unions, extended beyond photography by taking a meaningful step in conservation. They supported Action for Wildlife by adopting three rescued animals and covering their care expenses—specifically three flamingos, two of which are now ready to be released back into the wild. A truly commendable act of support!
Throughout the two-day convention, I was also present at the Action for Wildlife booth, where I had the chance to speak with numerous photographers and videographers about ethical wildlife photography practices. It was inspiring to see so many individuals express interest in responsible storytelling through photography and videography.
I deeply appreciate everyone who stopped by, supported the organization, and purchased the 2025 calendar featuring the Faces of Nature project, as well as other items like T-shirts and artwork. We also had Animal GoPhotoBooth at our stand, where everybody could take a photo strip with the Action for Wildlife logo and have fun!
One of the highlights of the event was the Faces of Nature photo exhibition, which showcased portraits of rescued wildlife that have been cared for at the rehabilitation center. I am particularly grateful to those who not only attended the exhibition but also purchased framed artwork, contributing directly to the financial support of Action for Wildlife’s mission.

This convention reinforced the power of visual storytelling in conservation and the importance of collective efforts to protect our natural world. I am truly grateful to have been a part of it, and I look forward to continuing this journey alongside so many passionate individuals dedicated to wildlife preservation.
I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to my family—my parents, my brother, my sister, my loving wife, and my two wonderful children—who have been patient and supportive throughout my journey. Their encouragement allows me to continue pursuing my passion for capturing wildlife and advocating for the protection of nature.
Thank you to everyone who made this experience so meaningful!
